IT'S NOT BROKEN IT'S FIXED, I'M NOT TAKEN I'M SINGLE.

I've been sensing a shift in preference when it comes to the bicycle of choice for the urban speed and style conscious.
Many are ditching the deraileur for low maintenance internal geared hubs or bringing it back to basics with either a singlespeed or fixed gear hub.

Taking cues from the Deadly Night Shades and websites such as Fixed Gear Girl Taiwan and 407Fixedgear is the fixie or singlespeed the new black?

  1. I put up a post on my own blog at Christmas listing good gifts. One of those gifts was a calendar of hot chicks with fixie bikes. I can now usually count on 10-20 hits a day from people googling "fixie" or "fixie chicks" that wind up at that post.
    Single speed bikes are definitely the new black. (However long boards might be the new single speed bikes...)

  2. Amazing what happens when you give people a choice in bikes. Years ago it was just road bikes then mountain. So much variety today.
